It's very hard to get free tickets on airlines. Bank of America offers $99 companion tickets for their USAir cards but the blackout dates are rather extensive and you must book a year in advance. It's a $99 annual fee, too, so you're close to $200 for a flight you can't take for a year! Most offers of free air travel do not end up being all that "worth it." Whatever one you do select, make sure you read the fine print very, very well before signing up.
Offers for free companion fares that come from frequent flier miles tend to work out a lot more favorably but you have to fly a LOT to qualify--- depending on the airline, it could be a minimim of 30 flights (15 round trips) a year or more!
